El Segundo
El Segundo is a city located in Los Angeles County and situated on the Santa Monica Bay. The name El Segundo is Spanish for “the second” and is due to its being the second West Coast location for Standard Oil’s refinery, which is now the Chevron Refinery.
In 2006, an Eddy was awarded to El Segundo for being Los Angeles County’s most business friendly city. LAX, Manhattan Beach and the Pacific Ocean border this growing corporate and industrial town. Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SpaceX, The Aerospace Corporation are all large aerospace companies located in El Segundo. The Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings both have practice facilities in El Segundo.
