About the Village of Walton Hills, Ohio
The Village of Walton Hills is completing its 54th year of incorporation. It was originally part of Bedford Township, which was formed in 1823. In 1915, residents of the northwest corner formed a separate municipality called the Village of Maple Heights. In 1951, Bedford Township as a government ceased to exist when the villages of Walton Hills, Bedford Heights and Oakwood were formed from the remaining areas. The Village encompasses a total of 7 square miles, 25 miles of roads and is bordered by several communities.

* West: Village of Valley View
* East: Village of Oakwood
* South: Village of Northfield and Township of Sagamore Hills. Sagamore Road to the South of the Village is the county line between Cuyahoga and Summit Counties.
* North: Cities of Bedford and Maple Heights and the Metroparks system.

Metroparks reservation is located within the boundary lines of the Village of Walton Hills and has been designated as part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Approximately three square miles of park property are within the boundaries of the Village. The Village Officials consist of a Mayor, six Councilpersons-at-large, a Chief of Police, a Fiscal Officer, a Building Inspector, a Business Manager and a Street Commissioner. A working contractual agreement with the Maple Heights and Oakwood Fire Departments serves the fire-fighting requirements of the Village and provides emergency medical service to the residents. The Village of Walton Hills is a semi-rural planned community. It is a community that provides its residents with the necessary services and affords them the opportunity of participating in planned recreational, social, business and civic organizations. The Village of Walton Hills is a friendly and progressive community where residents live in harmony as good neighbors and concerned citizens.
